Job Description:
MoCaFi seeks a highly motivated and experienced executive to join our team and scale our business as the first General Manager of Federal Programs. The role is responsible for overseeing and managing the successful implementation and execution of all programs with a specific focus on Federal opportunities. They will work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure projects meet their objectives on time, within budget, and with high quality. A successful General Manager of Federal Programs should possess technical, managerial, and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading complex projects, a deep understanding of payments, and a strong ability to inspire and motivate teams.
This role is based in New York City and reports directly to the CEO. The compensation package for this position includes a salary range of $275,000 to $375,000.

Job Responsibilities:
- Payments Expertise:
- Payment Systems: Knowledge of various payment systems, such as credit/debit card processing, bank transfers, digital wallets, and cryptocurrencies.
- Payment Gateways: Understand how they work, including their integration with websites and apps to facilitate secure transactions.
- Regulations and Compliance: Awareness of regulations such as PCI DSS, GDPR, and other relevant legal requirements to ensure compliance and protect customer data.
- Fraud Prevention: Familiarity with techniques and tools to detect and prevent fraudulent activities, safeguarding the business and its customers.
- Transaction Security: Understanding encryption, tokenization, and other security measures to protect payment information during transactions.
- Settlement and Reconciliation: Knowledge of the processes involved in settling transactions and reconciling payments, ensuring accurate financial records.
- Customer Experience: Ensuring a smooth and seamless customer payment experience, minimizing friction, and enhancing satisfaction.
- Cost Management: Awareness of the costs associated with different payment methods, including transaction fees, and optimizing for cost efficiency.
- Emerging Trends: Stay updated on emerging payment technologies and trends.
- Data Analysis: Utilize payment data to gain insights into customer behavior, sales trends, and overall business performance.
- Project Management:
- Use comprehensive payment knowledge to ensure processes are efficient, on budget, secure, and aligned with business objectives. This will ultimately contribute to the project's success and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential risks and issues.
- Ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
- Manage project resources effectively, including budget, personnel, and equipment.
- Team Leadership:
- Maintain a calm and collected under pressure, providing stability and assurance during challenging times.
- Build and lead a high-performing operations, program, and project manager team.
- Delegate tasks to leverage team strengths.
- Articulate a clear, strategic vision for the project and align the team to achieve long-term goals.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Manage relationships with payment and customer service providers and negotiate terms that benefit the organization.
- Set expectations and address stakeholder concerns; hold regular vendor reviews.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and vendors.
- Effective negotiation with stakeholders and vendors to achieve favorable outcomes for the project.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Ability to translate the technical aspects of the project into Product requirements.
- Collaborate with Tech and Product teams to ensure project success.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in operations, program, or project management in payments or consumer lending (e.g., payment processing, acquiring, issuing, payment technology provider, etc.) is required.
- Experience launching Federal programs preferred.
- Adept at working with payment processors, sponsor banks, networks, and program managers.
- Proven track record scaling teams and developing talent in a highly matrixed organization.
- Well-versed in creating and leading diverse processes for back and front office.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and permanently based in the US
