Job Summary

The Preneed Sales Manager is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and managing a team of outside sales agents/counselors to ensure their success. This role focuses on developing agents who can build strong relationships with the company's employees and inside sales teams, navigate internal processes, and effectively use the company's sales resources and CRM systems. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a strong ability to mentor and develop sales talent.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Grow the sales team by developing a recruitment strategy to attract top talent. Lead recruitment efforts in actively sourcing, interviewing, and onboard high caliber outside sales agents/counselors that align with company values and culture.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the training & development and agent onboarding process are streamlined with company procedures.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with the company employees, including management and inside sales teams, to ensure alignment and support.
  • Design and conduct comprehensive training programs for new agents, focusing on sales techniques, product knowledge, and relationship building skills.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development to enhance agents' skills and ensure their long-term success. Implement and monitor individual development plans for continuous improvement.
  • Train outside Preneed sales agents on how to effectively build and maintain relationships with inside sales teams and other company employees.
  • Guide agents through the processes and procedures necessary to navigate the company's internal systems. Ensure that all agents are proficient in using the company's CRM and internal sales platforms.
  • Lead and manage the outside Preneed sales team to meet or exceed sales targets. Monitor performance metrics and provide feedback to drive improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of agent activities, training, and performance metrics.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management.
  • Ensure that all activities are in compliance with company policies and industry regulations.


Primary Skills & Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management. Preferred in life and preneed insurance.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a related field of study.
  • Life insurance license and other related certification in sales is preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings. Ability to travel as needed.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Possess strong leadership and team management skills, demonstrating the ability to guide and inspire teams effectively while achieving organization goals. Experience fostering a collaborative and motivating environment that encourages high performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to effectively interact with diverse groups and foster positive relationships within the team.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and address challenges with innovative solutions.
