Associate Director of First-Year AdmissionJob Summary
Responsible for recruitment/enrollment initiatives in an assigned territory. Specifically, informs, advises, and counsels prospective students, secondary schools, community colleges, and other organizations about Elmhurst University. The Admission Counselor generates and converts prospects through the enrollment funnel by providing counseling through the recruitment cycle. Seeks opportunities for expanded recruitment contacts, participates in various recruiting events, and positively contributes to the attainment of new student enrollment goals.Essential Functions
Builds relationships with prospective first-year students and families for the purpose of informing them about University programs, admission and financial aid procedures.Presents to various groups about University, admission and financial aid opportunities.Plans and executes a schedule of visits and communication with contacts in an assigned territory.Recommends admission and scholarship decisions in an assigned territory.Creates and maintains effective, positive relationships with territorial contacts through general application of customer service and sales techniques.Participates in on-campus visitation programs sponsored by the Admission Office.Responds to inquiries and handles correspondence with prospective students in a timely and effective manner.Assists with general administrative duties as assigned by supervisors.Assumes responsibility for auxiliary program assignment such as student ambassador coordinator, alumni admission or faculty liaison.Travels to assigned territory while maintaining stewardship of resources.Is knowledgeable about general admission practices and industry trends.Utilizes CRM to run queries, track prospects' progress through the enrollment process, and makes data-driven decisions within territory.Follows strategies outlined within yearly recruitment plan within assigned territory to aid in meeting territory goals.Other Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous improvement.Supports the mission, vision and values of Elmhurst University.Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's DegreeWell-developed skills in verbal/written communicationUnderstanding of higher education in particular of private liberal arts Universities and their missionThe ability to project a positive image of the institution in an organized, accurate mannerGrasp of admission, financial aid procedures and academic opportunities available is necessaryMust be responsive and adaptable to a fast-paced environment and fluctuating responsibilitiesValid Driver's LicenseHigh School and other visits are performed in personal automobile, costs reimbursedAbility to carry and lift display and promotion material, approximately 50 poundsEvening and weekend hours as assignedAbility to travel locally, and in designated out-of-area territoriesBi-lingual skills encouraged but not requiredWorking Conditions/Physical Requirements
Recruitment visits are performed using personal transportation, costs reimbursed. Ability to carry and lift display and promotional materials, approximately 50 pounds.Work Hours
