Position Summary

This position, based at ACCS in Montgomery or remotely at the nearest community college, supports the Chief Economic Development Officer by managing, analyzing, and presenting economic development data for ACCS. Key responsibilities include conducting research, analyzing data, and creating comprehensive reports to communicate findings on workforce, education, labor market, and economic topics to various audiences.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Compile and analyze state and national workforce, economic, and labor market data to identify trends and inform college planning.Conduct qualitative and quantitative research and analysis on workforce and economic phenomena.Create and present data visualizations, reports, and PowerPoint presentations to communicate findings effectively.Create and maintain a Classification of Instruction Program (CIP) to Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) crosswalk for the purpose of accurately interpreting college programs as it pertains to Request for Proposal (RFPs) and company hiring needs.Create and maintain a current, systemwide programming repository.Develop prescriptive analytics to provide actionable insights and recommendations.Ensure data accuracy and resolve anomalies before distribution.Adhere to standard data security and privacy protocols, including those mandated by the Federal Educational Records Privacy Act (FERPA).SECONDARY DUTIES:

Continuously seek process improvement opportunities for efficient data retrieval and analysis.Complete mandatory employee training and participate in professional development activities.Travel, as needed, for project support, professional development, and relevant events.Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:REQUIRED:

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution

OR

5 years of experience in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.Proficiency in working with large integrated data sets using Microsoft Excel, Access, or similar software along with other Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Teams).Data extraction, analysis, and reporting experience using Excel pivot charts and/or data visualization tools (such as Tableau).Proficiency extracting, analyzing, and reporting data from business intelligence systems, and from external data sources at the state or national levels, in response to standard and ad hoc institutional research requests.Ability to analyze and process private, proprietary information while maintaining strict confidentiality.Experience working with/through others to obtain information needed to pull together project specific materials and/or presentations.Must possess a high degree of flexibility and demonstrated ability to work amid rapidly changing priorities and deadlines.Advanced knowledge of data visualization to design, enhance, and develop aesthetically pleasing visualizations, including, but not limited to, interactive dashboards, scorecards and reports.Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, and strong attention to detail.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Ability to multi-task and coordinate activities to ensure timely delivery of work product while working independently without constant supervision.PREFERRED:

One (1) to three (3) years of direct experience with performing economic, workforce, and labor market research and analyses.Familiarity with products like Lightcast, Adobe Illustrator, Monday.com, and/or Salesforce to pull data and track/quantify work projects.Ability to communicate complex data, information, and analytical results effectively to a broad range of audiences of varying technical expertise.Demonstrated experience in the writing & presentation of data and processes to diverse audiences.

RetirementThe Alabama Community College System participates in the Retirement Systems of Alabama Teachers Retirement System. Teachers Retirement System is a state-mandated program where a percentage of your salary is withheld per pay period for an individual's retirement account. The percentage is determined by an employee's hire date and any prior participation in the Retirement Systems of Alabama.
