Position Summary
The Recruiter position plays a vital role in promoting Wallace Community College to prospective students, community partners, and other stakeholders. This position is responsible for engaging with prospective students, collecting and analyzing recruitment data, aggressively identifying and tracking students from prospect to enrollee and ultimately achieving or exceeding specific enrollment goals for academic and technical programs in accordance with the process established by the College. The employee develops programs and marketing materials, visits schools and makes presentations to groups and individuals.

SALARY: Based on education and experience commensurate with Salary Schedule (range:$48,578- $97,216). Higher education could earn placement on a higher salary schedule.
ANTICIPATED START DATE: JULY 15, 2025
The position will be based initially at the Sparks Campus in Eufaula.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following list was developed through a job analysis; however, it is not exhaustive and other duties may be required and assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Recruitment and Outreach. Develops, Coordinates, and implements recruitment activities for students to attend WCC.
- Develop and implement strategic recruitment plans to attract prospective students.
- Represents the college at outreach activities to middle schools, high schools, community events, career fairs, colleges.
- Speaks to various groups and individual students, and meets with school counselors to promote WCC.
- Coordinates community workshops and information sessions to build and maintain relationships with K-12 schools, community organizations, and various business and industries within the service area.
- Serves as an advocate for the College to governmental officials, higher education entities, area high schools, businesses and industries, and the community at large.Provides career and academic counseling, planning, and advising to potential students.
- Engage with the Public Relations and Marketing department to assist with development of marketing materials.
- Distributes brochures, posters, flyers, and any other marketing tools; staffs exhibits/displays at college and career fairs, and other special events.
- Coordinates campus tours for individuals and groups of prospective students and their parents.
- Coordinates, organizes, and assists with visits of high school students/groups.
- Serves as a tour guide for individuals and groups visiting the campus.
- Attends awards and honors day programs at schools to present scholarships and other awards.
- Obtains information from prospective students and documents source.
- Collect, analyze, and report recruitment data to assess the effectiveness of outreach efforts.
- Track and monitor prospective student engagement and conversion rates.
- Utilize CRM systems and databases to manage recruitment pipelines and student inquiries.
- Provide regular reports on recruitment trends and student demographics to leadership.
- Creates and maintains a database of prospective and current students.
- Codes and enters information into computer.
- Formulates information to generate letters and correspondence; mails recruitment correspondence to students as needed.
- Assists in maintaining current enrollment records as they relate to student recruitment.
- Prepares reports and proposals, and responds to inquiries from students and external agencies.
- Maintains current knowledge of businesses and industries in the local area and participates, when applicable, in plant/business closures and layoffs to recruit potential students.
- Formulates and monitors annual recruiting budget.
- Schedules campus visits/high school presentations and maintains calendar.
- Generates, mails, and files correspondence concerning all recruitment activities.
- Orders supplies as needed.
- Answers telephone and gives information to callers or routes calls to appropriate office.
- Assists other College staff with activities, advertisements, and printed materials related to student recruiting.
- Assists with orientation, registration, graduation, and other activities in Student Affairs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Reports to work on time, at appropriate workstation or department during all departmental/position scheduled work days and during all departmental/position scheduled work hours.
- Understands that failure to report for work and/or reporting late without prior approval are unacceptable practices and will result in disciplinary action.
- Performs a productive full day's work.
- Ensures that service to students and the general public is top priority.
- Demonstrates a considerate, friendly, respectful and constructive attitude toward fellow employees and students.
- Adheres to all College and System policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
- One year of experience working in a postsecondary setting OR one year of work experience in recruiting, marketing, or public relations is required.
- Ability to work non-standard hours, including frequent after-hours activities during the week is required.
- Possess a current and valid driver's license with the ability frequently drive to events and activities and to be insured through the College's insurance provider is required.

Sick Leave
All regular full-time non-instructional staff earns one day of sick leave which is the equivalent of 8 hours of sick leave per month. Unused sick leave is rolled over to the following year. Upon retirement, employees are allowed to convert unused sick time into service time for the purpose of retirement. Retirement
The TRS was established in 1939 to provide benefits to qualified persons employed by state-supported educational institutions. Responsibility for the management and administration of the TRS is vested in its Board of Control. Tuition Assistance
This tuition waiver program is designed for all full-time instructional and non-instructional employees of The Alabama College System and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education and their dependents as defined under by policy. The program will be coordinated by each institution for employees within The Alabama College System and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education.
