Job Summary

Under assigned supervision, to drive a delivery truck; to deliver supplies, books, foodstuffs, food carts, equipment and mail; to assist in warehouse duties; to perform a variety of clerical duties; and to perform related work as required.

- Drives delivery truck to deliver supplies, furniture, cafeteria stock, equipment and other items as scheduled; assists with the receiving and inspection of incoming shipments of supplies, equipment foodstuffs crated food articles, instructional materials and other materials, checking against packing slips and purchase orders for quantity, propriety and conformity to specifications; notes shortages, damages or other discrepancies and reports them to supervisor.

- Submits receipts to supervisor when shipment is complete; loads and unloads trucks and stores materials in warehouse; fills requisitions, issues stock and delivers or picks up stock and special order materials; picks up and delivers inter-District and U.S. mail and audiovisual equipment.

- Serves as courier for the District office; picks up food at central kitchen and delivers to school cafeterias; moves furniture from school to school.

- Prepares parcels for shipping and delivery; keeps storage areas and goods in clean and orderly condition; assists in periodic inventories; operates forklift.

Requirements / Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Current employees working in a different job classification and desiring to make application for a vacant position should complete and submit an Application for Classified Employment to the Personnel Office prior to the posted deadline.
