Convention Service Manager

Position Overview:

Prepares all event documentation and coordinates with Sales, property departments and customer to ensure consistent, high-level service throughout the planning, event and post-event phases of property events. Recognizes opportunities to maximize revenue by up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events. Serves as the meeting and/or event planner's primary contact (following turnover) on property and is responsible for his/her experience.

Essential Functions:

Displays management skills in guest hospitality, exemplifies excellent customer service and creates a positive atmosphere for guest relations.Manages the planning, execution, and supervision of conventions, meetings and related events to include sales negotiations and conflict resolution.Communicates group specifications and history to the appropriate department.Promotes the proper use of function space, exhibit hall and overall event spaces. Maximizes group revenue by promoting all available goods, services, attractions and sub-contractors to convention and meeting related group functions.Oversees contracted group room blocks to include cutoff, attrition, and special requests per the group signed contract.Plans and develops convention and meeting group program logistics, resumes, agendas, Banquet Event Orders and services according to the client requirements and established guidelines.Manages group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups.Hosts Planning Meetings, Site Inspections, Pre-Convention Meetings as outlined in departmental guidelines.Confirms that all conventions adhere to company policies, fire department regulations, state liquor laws and other applicable government regulations.Requirements:
