Overview:

The

IT Manage r leads the IT department and is responsible for managing infrastructure, upgrading network components and ensuring cybersecurity risks are mitigated. This position supervises IT staff members and has overall responsibility for ensuring all Authority IT assets work reliably to meet business needs. This includes all internal and external customers of Norfolk International Airports (the Airport) IT infrastructure. This position manages the day-to-day operational support for existing infrastructure services and end-user support for those services; and completes moderate to complex technical assignments and project- based work to promote the effective use of new and existing technology.Position will be required to supervise and/or perform end user and network support at all levels for a 150+ node network in a campus environment, perform LAN administration and setup of network hardware (PCs, printers, servers, routers and other network infrastructure equipment), systems software and hardware maintenance and problem documentation, project planning and implementation, technical research pertaining to hardware and software with ability to make recommendations to senior management as needed for various projects.Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS : The following duties are typical for this position. Incumbents may not perform all the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.Manages the IT department to ensure the Authoritys IT infrastructure is maintained in working order, and IT staff is available to maintain 24/7 operations of the Airport. Serves as technical professional by overseeing a variety of moderately complex analytical and technical assignments; providing subject matter expertise and advice for assigned technology and infrastructure systems; planning, managing, and implementing infrastructure projects and upgrades; and assists in the design and documentation of infrastructure processes, procedures, and standards.Ensures availability of infrastructure services by implementing, monitoring, and supporting servers, storage, telephony and other services and infrastructure software platforms including but not limited to server / client operating systems, reporting platforms, messaging and database services, network configuration, web proxies and other software-based systems.Facilitates management of future problems by preparing clear and concise documentation; maintaining appropriate records of time spent, actions taken, and item status; assisting in designing and documenting infrastructure processes, procedures, and standards; maintaining and preparing system and software documentation; providing training or arranging for vendor training for system users.Procures necessary hardware and software in compliance with Authority purchasing requirements as required for efficient operation of Authority networked systems and develops plans for maintenance, reallocation, and disposal of such equipment in a cost-effective manner.Manage the Authoritys cybersecurity risk profile and ensure that cybersecurity risks are appropriately mitigated. Ensure Authority staff are appropriately trained in cybersecurity policies and best practices.Maintain Microsoft, Adobe, and other such software licensing programs to ensure operations continue.Ensure system patches, updates, backups, and other necessary processes are effectively operating.Maintains inventory of IT equipment, network-wide hardware and cabling diagrams.Performs all other duties as assigned and directed.Adhere to all Authority personnel policies and departmental guidelines.

Qualifications:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:EDUCATION/TRAINING:Bachelors degree Information Technology or a related field to the area of assignment.EXPERIENCE:Five years of technology experience supporting IT infrastructure including networks, security, and hardware; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.CERTIFICATIONS:MCP, MCSE, CNA, CNE, A+ may be substituted for education or experience.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Possess a valid drivers license and must meet NAA driving record requirements.Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility to hold a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge as may be required by assigned job duties and responsibilitiesKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES : The following generally describes the knowledge, skills and abilities required to enter the job and/or be learned within a short period of time to successfully perform the assigned duties.Operating Systems:

Proficient with latest version of Windows, Exchange Server & Windows Server. Network configuration principles for printers, PCs and other related peripherals required. Proficient with desktop automation software including Microsoft 365, exchange outlook, and internet software. Excellent diagnostic abilities for hardware and software related problems and ability to perform work with minimal supervision required.Network Configuration:

Familiar with router installation / configuration, hubs, LAN topologies in a campus environment using various network cabling. Internet/intranet knowledge desirable. Server setup and maintenance including hardware and software, gateways, switches & routers.Hardware:

Dell and HP servers and PCs. Familiar with laptop configuration and repair, PC and server maintenance and troubleshooting, upgrading hardware components for servers and desktop units, printer maintenance, and configuration of units for the network as needed.Software:
