Job Overview
The Sr Assoc, Log. Quality/EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Specialist is a critical role within our organization, entrusted with ensuring the adherence to high standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across all carrier operations, including rail, truck, and third-party vendors. This position requires a meticulous professional adept at auditing carrier compliance with established procedures, overseeing valet services, and managing projects related to vehicle distribution. The specialist will also play a key role in supporting process improvements and ISO documentation, as well as developing and implementing comprehensive EHS programs
The ideal candidate will bring a robust background in logistics and EHS practices, demonstrating a proven ability to drive continuous improvement, enforce rigorous standards, and foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship. This role demands exceptional analytical skills, project management expertise, and a thorough understanding of ISO compliance and environmental regulations
Responsibilities•Requires the supervision of none full-time and none part -time employees. Responsible for supervising external vendors and /or agencies, etc. Description of vendor source, relationship & authority. Supervising external vendor drivers to be sure they adhere to MBUSA PMY/DMY work instructions and have an understanding of their responsibilities•Responsible for auditing carriers (rail, truck and third party talent) to ensure that these independent entities are following Daimler and MBUSA quality standards and procedures for handling and moving MB product, ensuring that all vehicles are properly secured for transportation•Responsible for ensuring all Environmental Management Systems and Environmental Health and Safety procedures within the VPC are in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations•Assist the Supervisor of Process Improvement in maintaining adherence to MBUSA policies, procedures, and standards. Help compile, create, and update ISO documentation for accessories and all processes necessary for the finished vehicle supply chain•Develop and review reports that track KPIs and inventory performance. Use analytical skills to steer business operations effectively and efficiently•Ensure adherence to ISO9001 standardsQualifikationen Qualifications•Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Environmental Science, Safety Management, or a related field is required. Equivalent work experience in Environmental Health Safety or Logistics may be considered in lieu of formal education•Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in logistics quality management, environmental health and safety, or a related field
Other Skills:•Knowledge of SAP Hana and related computer systems•Knowledge of quality standards and acceptable variations•Proper use of all equipment•Knowledge of safety factors and precautions•Familiarity with ISO9001 Standards•Intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing for extended periods of time, stooping, climbing, sitting, reaching overhead•Frequently requires the use of hands to lift or handle objects, tools or controls•Manual dexterity and the ability to operate mechanical equipment required•Work is conducted near moving, mechanical parts with exposure to exhaust fumes, airborne particles as a result of shop work
