Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator

to join a leading PVC pipe manufacturer in Sanderson, Florida. Reporting to the corporate purchasing manager, this critical role is responsible for the location's purchasing and inventory functions.

What does the Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator do?

After a two-week training program, you will own the Purchasing and Inventory functions for the Sanderson location. The environment is fast-paced. You'll have the freedom (and responsibility) to complete your work with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities include:

Quoting supplies, MRO, and services as needed according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures.Purchasing goods and services according to the company's policies and procedures.Following up on Purchase Orders to maintain on-time orders.Receiving goods; ensuring appropriate counts and quality.Coordinating with department managers to maintain inventory levels.Evaluating vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.Negotiating volume and cash transaction discounts or other available discounts.Ensuring that purchasing documents are complete, accurate, and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.Maintaining pricing histories and other vendor records.Performing Inventory counts as directed.Maintaining parts numbers in the database.Cleaning and organizing spare parts storage room in coordination with the maintenance department.What is required to be considered for the Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator position?

To succeed, you must thoroughly understand purchasing procedures and inventory control. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required. We'll consider applicants without inventory experience who have significantly more than two years of purchasing experience. You must be able to compile information, work well under pressure, and make decisions.
