Pre-shift huddle at 0650 and 1850 for the oncoming shifts
Utilizes A.I.D.E.T and patient communication boards
Compliance with our quality initiatives.
Utilizes nurse selected order sets based off of provider approved order sets
Nurse patient ratios of 4:1
Charge nurse with limited patient load to facilitate daily operations
Patient care techs to assist with care
Utilizes a provider in triage during peak volumes
Unit based educator to provide hands on learning
Self scheduling

In May 2019, Piedmont Newton completed a $10 million expansion and renovation of the Emergency Department. The project doubled the departments capacity from 16 beds to 32 beds, created two additional team centers, and a room for higher acuity trauma cases. We provide care to patients presenting with a wide range of diagnoses, from life-threatening conditions to minor injuries or illnesses. As the only hospital located within Newton County, the Piedmont Newton Emergency Department serves 52,500 patients each year and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care

Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of a nursing program
Minimum Experience Required
New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
Minimum Licensure/Certification Required By Law
Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
BLS certification required.
Additional Qualifications
For PRN positions: One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred
Bachelors degree preferred
Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
