Compliance Consultant will be responsible for regulatory and compliance initiatives, as well as for developing and streamlining our policies, procedures, and documentation to accurately report ESG requirements that enhance Fortessa's global business.
Job Description
- Identify key objectives and tactics, creating programs, policies, and documentation that comply with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) regulations and adopt overall sustainable initiatives that align with Fortessa's global strategy.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on compliance matters to stakeholders, helping to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and integrate compliance considerations into project planning and execution.
- Develop and update compliance documentation, including policies, procedures, and controls.
- Collaborate with various lines of business and external 3rd-party vendors who provide reportable data and conduct audits.
- Plan and scope audit/advisory projects, execute project plans, prepare written findings, and facilitate business responses and action items.
- Conduct in-depth analysis to identify meaningful findings, recommend root cause remediation, and drive necessary changes.
- Closely monitor regulatory developments and summarize key developments to Senior Leadership, including interpretation of complex requirements.
- Gain an understanding of existing processes and lead the design/redesign of processes to ensure consistent reporting and data governance.
- Work cross-functionally with global team to gain and maintain an in-depth knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements and other applicable international standards.
- Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
- Maintain expertise in regulatory policies and procedures, document and compliance system management, and prepare detailed reports on audit findings and recommendations.
- Lead initiatives to implement necessary changes to meet compliance requirements effectively
Qualifications
- This is a hybrid position based out of our Ashburn location. Applicants must be in the Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia area.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Business, Finance, Environmental Management, Technology, International Development required.
- 6+ years of experience in Audit, Operations, Risk Management, Compliance, Technology, or related function.
- Bi-lingual German & English speaker highly desired.
- Experience driving solutions and programs in corporate sustainability and operations and working on sustainability reporting, strategies, best practices, and industry trends.
- Proven project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks & competing priorities while working effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of conducting audits and assessments to evaluate compliance.
- Demonstrate strong analytical, data collection, and reporting capabilities with a high attention to detail.
