The Opportunity:
We're looking for a Director, Total Rewards to join our People & Culture team.
Reporting to the Vice President, People & Culture, the Director, Total Rewards is responsible for the design, implementation, and governance of compensation, benefits, and reward and recognition strategies and programs. This role will be accountable for collaborating closely with senior leadership, HR teams, and external partners to enhance Aviso's employee value proposition, attract talent, and maintain competitive market positioning and rewards. You will be heavily involved in optimizing and managing compensation and benefit programs across the enterprise for all levels and functions, including executive compensation. You will drive and oversee the execution of our quarterly sales and annual compensation and rewards program cycle, ensuring alignment to Aviso's values, overall business objectives, and compliance with pay legislation.

Salary
This position is posted with an expected salary range of $140,000 - $170,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.

We're looking for a Director, Total Rewards to join our People & Culture team.

What your day looks like:
Leadership and Collaboration
- Lead the total rewards, compensation, and benefits center of excellence
- Provide mentorship and support to the Total Rewards, Payroll, and Benefits teams
- Lead and develop junior staff and share expertise in reward plan design and management
- Deliver amazing experiences to stakeholders and position Total Rewards as a partner of choice
Rewards, Strategy and Design
- Develop and execute comprehensive and aligned total rewards strategies to ensure all compensation, benefits, and recognition programs are competitive, scalable, and sustainable
- Partner as a subject matter expert with our client-facing HR Business Partners to support the design and implementation of rewards programs
- Provide expertise and recommendations to all levels of leadership, enabling impactful compensation discussions through preparation of reports and presentations based on market research and analysis
Compensation and Benefits Management
- Oversee job evaluations, market reviews, and lead our cyclical salary survey and compensation processes
- Develop and maintain compensation and rewards policies and documentation, ensuring alignment to Aviso's values and adherence to applicable legislation and employment law
- Plan and manage ad hoc projects to add value and enhance the stakeholder experience through each touchpoint and stage of the workplan
- Conduct research and remain current with compensation-related legislation, trends, and best practices
Requirements
Your experience and skills:
- Minimum 8+ years of progressive compensation, benefits and rewards experience, preferably within a complex, fast-paced, matrix organization is required
- Financial services industry experience is preferred
- At least 2 years of recent experience in a similar role managing people/teams is required
- CHRP, CCP or other HR related designations would be an asset
- Proven track record of successfully navigating through change, with a strong understanding of compensation and benefits principles, practices, and trends is required
- Experience with compensation and incentive program design and hands-on experience in execution of cyclical compensation programs and market benchmarking is required
- Strong business acumen is required with a high level of integrity to manage the sensitive nature of decisions around all things related to compensation, benefits, rewards, and recognition
- Proven ability to quickly partner with all levels of leadership, including executive is required
- Strong consultative communication and relationship management skills are required
- Strong collaboration and partnership skills are required; HRBP front faces and delivers to the LOBs based on expertise provided by the Total Rewards team
- Deep analytical capabilities to evaluate complex data, identify trends, and make recommendations is required
- Bias towards action with a strong sense of urgency and a continuous process improvement and value-added mindset is required
- A pragmatic and adaptable mindset and openness to learning new technologies is required
- Advanced presentation skills and expertise with MS suite of products is required
- Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset
