Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all company accounting practices, including accounting, financial reporting, tax, SOX compliance, and audit functions.
  • Assesses organizational performance against both the annual plan and the company's long-term strategy. Develops tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the Chief Financial Officer and makes recommendations on both strategy and operations.
  • Monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and audit requirements. Maintain internal control safeguards and coordinate in all audit activities.


Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Ensure seamless and effective communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization with respect to financial strategy, planning and forecasts for the overall company working with other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Acts as a change-oriented and engaging mentor/coach who builds confidence in and empowers his/her teams; one who builds a culture of accountability, shares authority and removes obstacles to success.
  • Lead the accounting function like a business and will need to be able to quickly gain the respect of team members as well as of peers across all functions and businesses.


Talent Management

  • Coach, mentor, and manage next-level leadership, with a view to further increasing the effectiveness and success of the organization
  • Develop and execute succession strategy plans.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain exceptional talent, creating a deep bench to ensure the company's ability to hit the targets as laid out in the growth strategy


Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, advanced degree such as an MBA is preferred
  • CPA required
  • In-depth technical knowledge of theories and practices within finance and accounting field- Warranty knowledge and experience is beneficial.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible accounting and management experience, preferably in P&C insurance, auto F&I, or warranty company setting
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with an ability to develop and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • High levels of familiarity with the use of data, and a demonstrated ability to utilize it to validate/challenge underlying assumptions and develop effective solutions
