JOB SUMMARY

Directs, plans, controls, and reports on the overall financial activities of the Company including banking, tax and regulatory compliance, accounting and reporting, planning, budgeting and credit and collections. Manages risk, implements cost-saving measures and assists in the Company's overall financial health and profitability. Leads the operations accounting, monthly/quarterly close procedures, and reporting process.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Analysis & Budget Management
  • Facilitates and manages budget process from annual planning process to monthly monitoring and performance, ensuring process is streamlined and utilizes technology appropriately.
  • Oversees a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism which results in a minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
  • Provides timely and accurate data to support recommendations to the Executive Team on long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, regulatory matters, and evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions, and/or mergers.
  • Creates, coordinates, and evaluates the financial programs and supporting information systems of Pioneer to include budgeting and financial reporting, job planning & costing, product costing, tax planning, real estate, and conservation of assets.

Accounting & Financial Reporting
  • Primarily responsible for month-end and year-end closing reporting duties which include, but are not limited to, general ledger entries, general ledger account reconciliations, and subledger reconciliations.
  • Facilitates and coordinates audits on accounting accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitors daily cash and deposits, weekly and bi-weekly payroll and receivables.
  • Works closely with the Senior Project Accountant on monthly job cost and WIP reporting to support project managers and Senior Leadership in effectively managing projects and gross margin.
  • Formalizes, maintains, and documents internal controls.

Technical Compliance
  • Drives tax, corporate and government compliance including on-time, accurate filings.
  • Ensures compliance with banking covenants and bonding reporting requirements.
  • Maintains and safekeeps all corporate financial records in compliance with government regulations.
  • Guarantees compliance with all laws and regulations for the 401(k) plans and Employee Stock Ownership Plan. This includes, but is not limited to, preparing schedules, managing third-party administrator requests, reviewing plan financials for accuracy, facilitating both internal and external plan audits, and developing a deep understanding of participation requirements.
  • Manages external accountants during annual review, periodic audits and tax preparation.

Management & Leadership
  • Hires and supervises accounting team members, setting department priorities and operational strategy.
  • Manages and coaches the Accounting workforce. Responsibilities include assigning and directing work, providing performance feedback, rewarding, and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensures employees have the tools and resources available to successfully perform their duties.
  • Makes training recommendations to keep workforce current with industry changes and technology.


JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
  • 10+ years of experience in progressing Accounting and Financial roles with 5+ years of managerial experience
  • P.A. designation preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
  • Ability to effectively apply finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to motivate teams, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.
  • Ability to effectively present, persuade, and collaborate with diverse teams of manufacturing, field, and office personnel.
  • Experience with understanding, documenting, and improving business processes.
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience leading projects, individuals, and teams to achieve maximum efficiency.
