As a Senior Platform Engineer focused on Developer Experience (DevEx), you will be responsible for enhancing the productivity and satisfaction of our development teams. You will design, develop, and implement scalable platform solutions, optimize development workflows, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Your expertise in building developer-centric tools and platforms will be instrumental in creating a seamless and efficient development environment.

What you'll be doing as key responsibilities of Platform Engineer
  • Platform Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure platform services and tools that enhance the developer experience.
  • Tooling and Automation: Develop and integrate tools that automate repetitive tasks, improve code quality, and accelerate delivery pipelines.
  • Workflow Optimization: Identify bottlenecks in development processes and implement solutions to streamline workflows, reduce friction, and improve efficiency.
  • Measure Developer Experience KPIs: Define, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to developer experience to continuously assess and improve the platform's and tools' effectiveness.
  • Collaboration and Advocacy: Work closely with development teams to understand their needs, gather feedback, and advocate for platform improvements.
  • Documentation and Training: Create comprehensive documentation and train developers to use platform tools and services effectively.
  • Monitoring and Support: Implement monitoring and logging solutions to ensure platform reliability and provide support for platform-related issues.
  • Innovation and Best Practices: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in platform engineering and DevEx, and apply this knowledge to continuously improve our platform.

What we're looking for:
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevEx, or a related field, with a proven track record of improving developer productivity and experience.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Go, Python, Javascript/Typescript, Ruby, etc.) and scripting languages.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Strong proficiency in infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
  • CI/CD Tools: Proficient in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Github Actions, CircleCI, ArgoCD, or similar.
  • Container Orchestration: Expertise in container orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm) and experience with managing large-scale container deployments.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Tooling and Automation: Experience with developing and integrating developer tools and automation frameworks.
  • Developer Productivity Tools: Familiarity with tools and platforms that enhance developer productivity, such as IDE plugins, code analyzers, and build tools.

  • Internal Developer Platforms (IDP): Experience with IDP platforms such as Backstage and Humanitec.
  • DevOps Integration: Understanding of DevOps principles and practices, ensuring seamless integration between development and operations.
  • Experience with Observability: Proficiency in monitoring, logging, and tracing tools to ensure platform reliability and performance.
  • Security Best Practices: Knowledge of security principles and best practices in cloud and containerized environments.

Salary Range: $135,300 - $202,950

The base salary range represents the reasonably anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, experience and competencies, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data for companies of our size and industry.
