SUMMARY
A Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager provides credit administration and underwriting support while serving as the secondary contact on all managed relationships. The Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager is responsible for a wide range of duties including, but not limited to the following:

SUMMARY
A Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager provides credit administration and underwriting support while serving as the secondary contact on all managed relationships. The Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager is responsible for a wide range of duties including, but not limited to the following:
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 4-year business degree with concentration in finance and/or accounting preferred
- 7-10 years of work experience in credit analysis, underwriting, policy proficiency, loan structuring, and portfolio management preferred
- Experience as a lender/relationship manager preferred
- Must possess a proficient knowledge of credit policy and loan documentation issues
- Must possess a knowledge of various loan structures and have the ability to apply this knowledge in the formulation of sound credit recommendations
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to write clearly, concisely and efficiently
- Must understand and work effectively within the credit culture of the company
- Must allocate time effectively and prioritize work to meet timelines
- Must have experience spreading financial statements utilizing Moody's or Baker Hill
- Participate in all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.
JOB FUNCTIONS
General:
- Work with CRE RMs to manage all aspects of the loan portfolio including annual reviews, past dues, financial reporting compliance, covenant compliance, CARs, collateral exceptions, and other portfolio management activities
- Actively participate and assist in all aspects of the loan process including joint calling, underwriting and preparation of credit approval packages
- Serve as secondary contact on client relationships
- Review loan documents
- Must be able to spread, analyze, and interpret CRE project, related entity, and personal financial statements
- Must be able to identify strengths and weaknesses of individual requests and make recommendations to address and mitigate perceived risks
- Must prepare and be able to present credit analysis packages through the credit approval chain with limited supervision
- Will make calls on companies, sponsors and investment bankers with senior bankers
- Serves as the initial deal screen to determine loan viability -
- Research CRE Product and Markets
- Prepare credit analysis packages
- Make preliminary recommendations
- Interact with senior executives in senior credit committee
- Communicate with Sponsors/Borrowers to obtain pertinent information for rendering recommendations
- Address compliance issues with management and customers; evaluate and recommend changes to covenants, pricing, credit agreement terms, etc.
- Complete any special project work or other duties as assigned
Management:
- Build and manage a team of CRE Analysts that will focus on collecting, organizing, and spreading Borrower/Project, Guarantor, and other Project-related financials.
- Responsible for assisting and mentoring, developing, and supervising the CRE Analysts.
- Conducts regular coaching sessions/meetings to discuss goals & opportunities, policy & procedure changes, etc.
- Create relevant tracking & monitoring tools to aid CRE Analysts in fulfilling their job functions in an efficient way.
- Other duties as assigned.
