Responsibilities and Expectations:
We are looking for a talented Technical Specialist and Resource Manager to manage a variety of strategic initiatives within our Hydro Division. These initiatives will generate quality growth and critical cost-effective solutions across our global services business. In this role you will also develop and integrate processes to meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within your area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall Hydro business strategy.

We are looking for a talented Technical Specialist and Resource Manager to manage a variety of strategic initiatives within our Hydro Division. These initiatives will generate quality growth and critical cost-effective solutions across our global services business. In this role you will also develop and integrate processes to meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within your area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall Hydro business strategy.
- Support entire ITO/OTR process for all hydro generator opportunities (RFQs/proposals and project execution)
- Drive material cost-out, supplier excellence, LEAN objectives and related On-site and Service center support
- Monitor timely completion of all hydro program deliverables/milestones
- Work to customer CTQs and gather feedback on performance and best practices/lessons learned
- Support on-site installation supervision when required
- Assure implementation of Lessons Learned from post project closeouts, application of best practices and continuous program improvements
- Provide technical leadership for assigned programs assuring operational integrity
- Establish goals and program direction to achieve reliability, cost control, and Unmatched Customer Experience
- Provide technical leadership and direction to the Customer, Project, Engineering Programs, and other interfacing functional organization
- Assure development, implementation, and maintenance of technical operating plans for each assigned program or customer
- Provide direction and leadership with interfacing organizations in the initiation and implementation of design changes or modifications and repairs to meet requirements and needs
- Provide for the most efficient use of company assets in pursuit of corrective actions or improvements
- Effectively communicate and influence partnership programs, interactions, and relationships
- Create standard execution process rigor "across the globe" to improve cost and cycle position for the Hydro division
- Support capacity and resource allocation models to reduce overall man-hours assigned to execute generator projects
- Provide technical support of the following hydro generator initiatives: Quality Assurance Report Programs (QAR), Work Instructions, Project Planning, Parametric Modeling, Hydro Generator Test & Inspection Programs, Standardization of Hydro Generator Tooling
- Provide proper technical and "hands-on" training requirements related to Hydro Generator FE and Hydro Winder 101 Courses
- Ensure all hydro projects are being properly staffed to meet customer schedule requirements.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University or College (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 10 years experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Repair Technologies, and/or methods of planning/parts)
- Minimum of 4 years of experience related to Hydro generators and/or related technology
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%
- Generator Specialist Program graduate or GPL designation desired
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification is desired
- Project Management experience related to Hydro Generator Equipment
- GE Service Center operations experience is desired
- Experienced in directing craft labor on customer sites
- Lean Manufacturing experience
- Excellent communication, organizational, integration, and leadership skills
