THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL

Talent is key at Sciens Building Solutions. We are seeking a high energy, experienced People & Culture Manager who is people-focused, motivated, and organized to help drive a comprehensive talent management program. Under the supervision of our Vice President of People & Culture, the person in this role will manage the day-to-day internal People & Culture needs for our Northern California divisions. This person will provide support for the design, implementation, communication, and administration of People & Culture initiatives.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (and doing well!)
  • Interpret and facilitate company policies, procedures, and documentation for People & Culture matters for our Northern California divisions.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts and prepare employees for assignments by planning and conducting orientation and training programs.
  • Ensure that our Northern California divisions are compliant with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
  • Effectively manage FMLA leave and disability related tasks and reporting.
  • Work and transact within the UKG Pro HRIS.
  • Facilitate benefit programs and maintain all records of insurance coverage, 401(k) plans and personnel transactions, such as hires, promotions, compensation adjustments, transfers, and terminations for all Divisions.
  • Manage and facilitate leadership training, including such topics as interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, safety, harassment prevention, and other key areas.
  • Lead and facilitate employee investigations, disciplinary meetings, and terminations.
  • Facilitate initiatives designed to recognize performance through bonus, employee reviews, other types of programs, and ensure a regular review process.
  • Administer tasks related to recruiting, onboarding and offboarding, utilizing the UKG Pro system.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU!
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program, preferably in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field. Five or more years of human resource administration experience required; at least one year of human resources management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of labor laws, employment law guidelines & policies and compliance regulations, including FMLA.
  • Exceptional people skills and experience providing counsel/feedback.
  • Ability to develop relationships and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Working knowledge of UKG Pro or related payroll and HR management systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time between Northern CA division.

Salary Range: 125k to 135k
