Overview

Specializing in high-tech facility design, SSOE provides design and engineering services for a wide variety of clients. Join SSOE as an Engineering Group Manager, where you would have the opportunity to lead a team of engineers, designers, and support staff to ensure the technical competency and quality of work performed by the staff. This role offers the opportunity to guide and mentor a dynamic team that plays a crucial role in developing complex designs for state-of-the-art industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities for the world's leading high-tech companies.This person will also coordinate with various in-house disciplines within the organization (architectural, electrical, process/chemical, structural, mechanical, etc.) and will be an integral part of problem-solving complex designs. This position will be a hybrid position, requiring occasional onsite work. Fully remote or travel work arrangements for this role are not available. Local candidates are encouraged to apply, but relocation assistance can be provided for well-qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively lead, oversee, and mentor the several in-house engineering teams, with an emphasis on employee growth, project success, and overall performance.
  • Set clear goals and objectives, assess progress, and instill a performance-oriented culture with a focus on accountability. Deploy a strategy that builds, retains, and engages all employees through inclusion and teamwork.
  • Coordinates with various disciplines leads within the organization (architectural, electrical, process/chemical, structural, etc.) and Project Managers to collaborate, optimize, and improve work and staff sharing by participating in multi-discipline strategy sessions.
  • Handle client facing responsibilities, such as project needs, requirements, constraints, addressing of client issues, and fostering strong relationships.
  • Assists all levels of Management in articulating discipline capability requirements in support of strategic and business objectives.
  • Identifies, champions, mentors, and coaches the development of our less experienced staff and looks for ways to elevate the technical and professional expertise of the team.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project control processes, tools, and methodologies for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Occasional local and regional travel may be needed, based on necessity.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in either Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Industrial Engineering is required.
  • Active Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain an active PE license is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and problem-solving skills, preferably in a design-build environment.
  • Demonstrated skill in multidisciplinary coordination and collaboration, strong organization and communication skills, and highly responsive.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing, semiconductor, high technology, and/or battery manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
  • Salary Range: $130,000 - $165,000+/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
