Who You’ll Work With:AllianceBernstein is seeking a highly skilled Insurance Portfolio Manager, reporting to the Deputy Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Insurance. This person will combine their deep understanding of insurance company needs and AB’s investments offerings to achieve client objectives while minimizing risk. The candidate will help design and implement insurance specific optimization and quantitative tools. The candidate should have a successful track record of delivering investment performance and a reputation of being client focused. The candidate must work well in a team-based environment and will be part of the AB Insurance Asset and Analytics team.What You’ll Do:The Insurance Asset and Analytics team acts as the key investments point of contact between AB Insurance and other AB investment teams. The successful candidate would own asset analytics, assumptions and securities-level optimization model construction; manage flows and in-force portfolios based on tactical asset allocation and client portfolio guidelines/objectives, always through the insurance lenses; manage aggregate client portfolio asset risk level, provide asset level analysis and own credit surveillance and impairment review process tailored to insurance clients; and partner with dedicated AB investments team on process improvement, ensure best ideas are shared and, and generate asset performance evaluation analysis.What We’re Looking For:Deep knowledge of public and private fixed income instruments and experience in portfolio managementStrong understanding of insurance company regulations across various regimes; statutory and GAAP insurance investment accounting, and risk management frameworkExperience in managing both income-oriented and total-return focused portfoliosAsset-liability management experience in an insurance company environmentWorking knowledge in formulating and implementing insurance-specific strategic and tactical asset allocationGood understanding of derivative strategies and Responsible InvestingAbility and willingness to design, implement, and utilize systematic quantitative toolsClient focused with history of developing relationships with new and existing clients Strong oral and written communication skillsExcellent time and project management skillsDetail-oriented, service-oriented and self-directedTeam-orientation is vital.
