This role will oversee all financial operations with a focus on driving performance and ensuring sound financial management. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of high-level accounting and financial oversight and operational experience, ideally within transportation or a related industry.

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic VP of Finance to join our senior leadership team. This role will oversee all financial operations with a focus on driving performance and ensuring sound financial management. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of high-level accounting and financial oversight and operational experience, ideally within transportation or a related industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting functions, including payroll, payables/receivables, month-end and year-end closes, and financial reporting.
- Manage and support three accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Lead the replacement of Great Plains accounting software and oversee other financial systems management tasks.
- Collaborate closely with the President and other senior leaders to support revenue optimization, cost management, and overall financial performance.
- Prepare and review tax filings and ensure compliance with government reporting requirements.
- Oversee and strengthen internal controls and process improvement.
- Develop financial strategies and plans to support the company's growth within its existing region while managing overhead and improving efficiencies.
- Participate in high-level discussions and decision-making processes as a key member of the senior leadership team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in the transportation or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, tax, and compliance.
- Experience managing and leading systems implementations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Strategic thinker with a strong understanding of financial and operational metrics for future planning.
- Demonstrated ability to work hands on in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and proven leadership ability.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and general comfort level with use of other accounting software.
- Strong work ethic, with a commitment to maintaining a small company feel in a growing and evolving organization.
Job Details:
- Location: Concord, NH
- Shift: Monday - Friday, in office
- Pay: $150k - $175k negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
- Benefits: Medical, Dental, Life, Disability, 401(k), and Paid Vacation/Holidays
- Travel: Occasional same day regional travel to start
