Position Summary
The Association Controller is a crucial member of client teams, bringing exceptional skills as a NetSuite user with adept time management and prioritization abilities. In this role, the individual oversees full-charge accounting, directing general accounting, financial planning, and reporting for multiple non-profit associations. Working directly with the Accountants I and IIs, the Association Controller ensures seamless financial operations, timely financial statements, and provides valuable guidance.

Essential Functions
Monthly Financial Reporting
- Prepare timely monthly financial reports for multiple non-profit associations, including thorough analysis and interpretation.
- Provide variance analysis of actual figures versus budget, forecast, and previous year.
Financial Oversight
- Oversee client accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Maintain internal controls for revenue, costs, and program budgets to prevent inaccuracies in financial statements.
Collaboration and Analysis
- Collaborate with Account Executives to ensure timely communication of clients' financial status by providing financial statements and leading recurring calls to discuss prior period results.
- Understand the business of association clients for accurate and in-depth financial analysis and guidance.
Audit and Budgeting
- Work with external auditor/CPA firm for reviews, audits, and tax returns.
- Assist in clients' budgeting processes and recommend corrective actions to meet financial objectives.
Financial Policies and Improvements
- Facilitate the establishment and maintenance of clients' financial policies, procedures, and controls.
- Recommend continuous improvements to clients' financial processes, collaborating with client teams to prioritize programs and services for optimized revenue generation.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years progressive accounting experience, including month-end close processes.
- Experience in multi-company financial management highly desired.
- Strong NetSuite general ledger and financial reporting experience preferred.
- Proficient in Excel and Word.
- Association management or non-profit experience is beneficial.
- Prior management of direct reports preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to assess situations/issues rapidly and determine objectives and next steps for resolution.
- Proven ability to pursue and achieve aggressive goals.
- Capability to analyze numbers to drive change and elevate organizational performance.
- Preference will be given to local candidates
