We are a leading innovator and strategic partner in the manufacturing of fasteners, fittings, and engineered products for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. CAM is currently comprised of nine subsidiaries across the United States split among three segments.Job Summary:This position requires the dimensional/visual/mechanical property inspection of parts throughout various stages of manufacturing up to and including final acceptance. Various gages and inspection equipment will be used to determine conformance to requirements along with identifying and reporting defects per established procedures and practices.Essential FunctionsRead prints/specifications, measure parts and works with the following types of gages to determine if product is in conformance: pin gages, micrometers (various types), drop gage indicators, calipers, hardness tester, tri-rolls, optical comparator and other equipment or gages as needed
Visually inspects sample parts, usually under a magnifying glass or Microscope, from each pan and identifies any nonconforming parts in the lot. If the nonconforming parts exceed acceptance criteria, the entire lot is rejected via written documentation. This work can be performed in the Inspection area as well as on the shop floor.Document results on applicable quality documentationActively participates in continuous improvement activities to assist team in meeting goals related to quality, cost and delivery.Train other inspectors to the functions required for that position.Works with minimal supervision to independently perform the job of Inspector A in its entirety as assigned.Tasks
Communicates job status, relevant information to coworkers as well as informing operators on the floor of defective product while performing inspection on the shop floorCompletes assigned tasks, functions and special projects in a timely mannerRead and understand written work instructionsConducts 100% visual inspection of lots as needed.Completes router, inspection reports and Non-Conformance Report, as needed.Keeps work area organized and clean at all times.Observes all safety regulations in all duties.Performs other duties as requiredPhysical Requirements
Visual acuity for detailed workMust Be able to lift 50 pounds from floor to waist and waist to floor occasionallyMust be able to stand throughout the entire shift.Must be able to work in an un-air conditioned, well ventilated and/or air conditioned shop environment.Qualifications
