Functions

The Business Intelligence Specialist is responsible for managing data retrieval and analysis within the organization. Their duties include organizing data points, communicating between upper management and the IT department, and analyzing data to determine a corporation's needs. Responsible for implementing data-driven strategies that improve ESG processes and increase efficiencies and sustainability. Work with the Program Management Support Team managers and employees and other department stakeholders to mine data, develop analytics tools, and report back on findings and solutions to Management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.Developing and managing business intelligence solutions for the organizationProviding reports through office applications to improve business processesCollaborating with team members for the purpose of collecting data and executing the company's missionAnalyzing business requirements and processes and recommending them to the management and executives for implementationCreating and maintaining documentation that includes the design, requirements, and user manuals for the organizationIdentifying the development needs for the purpose of streamlining and improving the operations of the organization for efficiency and profitability.Consulting with management and relevant stakeholders to define goals.Researching, developing and implementing data-gathering methods.Designing and building tools and documentation for data solutions in BI and collaborative Software platforms.Analyzing and synthesizing data across departments to support the PMO and Executive managementReporting back on findings and suggesting solutions.Collaborating with coworkers and management to implement improvements.Evaluating the effectiveness of implemented strategies.Develop dashboards, reports, templates, workflow tools, database solutionsPerform other duties as instructed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Reporting Relationship

This position will report to the Deputy Business & Earned Value Director.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, statistics, business studies, or related field Control Account Manager certification is required. 3 or more years of experience in programming for data analysis. Data warehouse experience, Experience with BI tools and platforms and Software Design Lifecycle (SLDC) experience required. Experience in the USCG/DoD/U.S. Navy or another government environment, particularly in providing data analysis and BI reporting using Cobra, P6, Costpoint, SharePoint, and other database constructures, Financial and dashboard reporting formats, Project management experience, and Agile Software development experience highly desired.

Skills:

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Working knowledge of various web-based design and collaboration tools. Collaborative mindset. Firm understanding of statistics and databases. Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
