Transition Finance Consultant or Senior Consultant

to support our growing Transition Finance and Innovation line of business. This role is hybrid, preference for PST and MST time zones.What you’ll do:Support consulting strategy development, financial modeling and execution:

Develop robust financial analysis and models integrating climate, sustainability, economic, policy, technology, and other related data.Evaluate market, industry and customer specific data to develop relevant assumptions and time horizons for integration into project deliverables.Develop business cases for sustainability-focused projects and programs, including but not limited to climate, water and waste-related initiatives.Serve as a project engagement’s primary ’doer’ - activate the project plan developed by the leadership team, building the foundation to deliver high quality work products on a timely basis.Create high quality deliverables that meet and exceed project requirements.Convert research and analysis into synthesized content for storytelling to client executives.Demonstrate executive presence in client communication, present to clients on an as needed basis.Mentor junior team members.Candidates should understand how to identify, evaluate and quantify the financial impacts of sustainability-related business cases.Candidates should be able to provide analysis and synthesis of emerging sustainability technologies and solutions and understand the business model implications of testing and commercializing different solutions and financial products.Seek out learnings and experiences to build and enhance domain expertise.Candidates with experience performing investment analysis or developing project financing in relation to clean energy solutions & systems and/or developing energy efficiency and decarbonization strategies are a priority for this role.

Support internal projects:

Build financial models to support business planning for new service offerings and solutions.Contribute to business development and market research efforts that support client sales presentations and thought leadership.Conduct high quality and fast market and investment analysis of climate-related opportunities.Help build materials for Earth Finance’s Learning Agenda and wider team development.

Skills you’ll need to be successful in the role:4 - 7 years of professional experience. We will prioritize candidates with 2+ years in climate strategy, investing, project financing, and past investment analysis experience. We are open to candidates with commensurate and transferable experience. Experience in developing robust financial models and sensitivity analysis to support business case development.Preferably hold a CFA or CPA.Experience with scenario analysis, including Monte Carlo and Crystal Ball, to evaluate probabilities and range of potential outcomes.Experience developing quantitative and qualitative analysis and presentations to support program or project-level business cases, investment decisions, etc.Experience with project finance and investment analysis, and familiarity with energy, decarbonization, and climate transition solutions.Ability to conduct high quality, quantitative analyses of climate-related data and corporate strategy processes with a strong attention to detail.Strong written and verbal communication skills that can adapt to different audiences.Ability to work collaboratively in a team and create an inclusive environment with client partners.Comfortable dealing with ambiguous problem areas and identifying a range of potential opportunity sets and solutions.Deft at translating complex analysis into concise insights and identifying relevancy to different audiences.Flexible mindset with the ability to build trust and work independently.Comfort with ambiguous, ever-changing situations and the nature of start-ups/young businesses.Commitment to continuous learning.Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite.Interest in building and managing sustainable businesses.Willingness to travel.Outstanding academic performance in an undergraduate or Master’s degree (preferably with experience in finance, data science, climate, sustainability, business, public affairs or related fields).Why you should join us:Earth Finance is a dedicated team of strategists, investors, policy makers, scientists, and subject matter experts who are committed to identifying and implementing solutions that create a financially viable low-carbon future. Title and salary offered will be commensurate with your experience, plus performance-based bonus and equity options.Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
