Consultant / Senior Consultant
to support our growing business. This role is based in Seattle, WA and while this associate will be working virtually for now, being in the greater Seattle area is preferred for the position.What you’ll do:Consulting project execution and leadershipServe as a project engagement’s primary ’doer’ - activating the project plan developed by the leadership team, building the foundation to deliver high quality work products on a timely basis.Execute quantitative and qualitative analyses of climate, sustainability, and renewable fuels data, industry benchmarks and trends, and client-specific business implications.Work closely with clients to understand their sustainability objectives and develop tailored strategies for producing, deploying and adopting renewable fuels and sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) into their business models.Provide expert advice on renewable fuels technologies, sourcing options, and regulatory compliance.Create high quality deliverables that meet and exceed project requirements.Convert research and analysis into synthesized content for storytelling to client executives.Demonstrate executive presence in client communication, present to clients on an as needed basis.Mentor junior team members.Apply your existing domain experience to project work, begin developing trust as an expert with the team and our clients.Seek out learnings and experiences to build and enhance domain expertise.Candidates with experience in renewable fuels and SAF and developing decarbonization strategies are a priority for this role.Maintain a market leading understanding of innovative evolution of renewable fuels and SAF technologies, feedstock options, and supply chain logistics.Maintain in-depth understanding of various sustainable aviation fuel production technologies, including feedstock selection, conversion processes (e.g., hydroprocessing, gasification), and quality specifications.Build evolving knowledge base of different feedstock options (e.g., waste oils, biomass, algae) and their suitability for SAF production.Market research and analysisStay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, pricing/incentive structures, and regulatory developments related to renewable fuels and sustainable aviation fuels.Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on renewable fuel feedstock options, production processes, and market dynamics in the sustainable aviation fuels sector.Stay informed about regional and international regulations governing renewable fuels and sustainable aviation fuels.Maintain familiarity with international and regional regulations and standards governing the production, certification, and use of renewable fuels and sustainable aviation fuels.Provide guidance to clients on navigating and complying with regulatory frameworks.Internal projectsContribute to business development efforts, including deck development and market research.Conduct research to support Earth Finance’s Thought Leadership agenda.Help build materials for Earth Finance’s Learning Agenda and wider team development.Skills you’ll need to be successful in the role:3 - 7 years of professional experience. We will prioritize candidates with 2+ years in renewable fuels, climate strategy and past consulting work experience. We are open to candidates with commensurate and transferable experience.Strong analytical skills to assess complex issues, identify solutions, and make data-driven recommendations.Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, government agencies, industry associations, and technology providers.Ability to represent clients or Earth Finance in industry forums, conferences, and collaborative initiatives.Experience building and leveraging a network within the renewable fuels and sustainable aviation industry to stay informed, collaborate on projects, and identify business opportunities.Ability to think strategically and align SAF initiatives with broader business goals.Deep commitment to business sustainability and identifying just, innovative, and systemic solutions.Experience working with retail and consumer-facing businesses, electric utilities or within the energy industry strongly desired.Experience with and understanding of global standards and frameworks such as the GHG Protocol, SBTi, RE100, ISSB, TCFD, TNFD, and PRI (among others).Quantitative analysis and financial modeling skills.Ability to conduct high quality, quantitative analyses of climate-related data and corporate strategy processes with a strong attention to detail.Strong written and verbal communication skills that can adapt to different audiences.Ability to work collaboratively in a team and create an inclusive environment with client partners.Flexible mindset with the ability to build trust and work independently.Comfort with ambiguous, ever-changing situations.Commitment to continuous learning.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Salesforce.Interest in building and managing sustainable businesses.Willingness to travel.Outstanding academic performance in an undergraduate or Masters degree (preferably with experience in climate, sustainability, business, public affairs or related fields).Why you should join us:Earth Finance is a dedicated team of strategists, investors, policy makers, scientists, and subject matter experts who are committed to identifying and implementing solutions that create an operationally and financially viable low-carbon future.
