Job Summary

The UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center is an NCI designated cancer center with multidisciplinary medical specialties seen in the clinical practice. The Psychologist position is an integral part of the practice team with the Psycho-oncology service. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide psychological assessment, consultation and intervention services to cancer patients and their families. As this position also provides consultation on individual patient mental health issues to the patient’s providers and health care team, the work environment for this position involves interaction with many other practitioners within the Cancer Center. Ways to improve communication and service to patients are part of each person’s job in the Cancer Center. Participation in the Continuous Quality Improvement process and strict adherence to HIPAA policies and procedures are expected.

One day a week onsite per operational need.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. A Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited programGraduation from an APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical psychologyExpertise in psychological evaluations of adultsAbility to work independently and as part of a large multidisciplinary teamStrong organizational skills, including the abilities to meet deadlines and manage multiple clinical activities simultaneouslyStrong interpersonal skillsDemonstrated excellence in attendance and reliabilityPreferred Qualifications

Experience working with cancer patients.Experience in an academic environment.Experience facilitating support groups.License/Certification

Current license from the California State Board of Psychology at the time of hireUCSF Medical Center requires all Advanced Health Professionals (AHP) to be credentialed through its Medical Staff Services Office (MSSO) in order to practice and function in their clinical role. This applies to both adult and pediatric AHPs in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings at all UCSF Medical Center sites (Parnassus, Mt. Zion, Mission Bay, Satellite Clinics, et al). Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days and must be completed prior to the first working day.About UCSF
