Venturi Astrolab, Inc. (Astrolab) is pioneering new ways to explore and operate on distant planetary bodies. We are singularly focused on designing, building, and operating a fleet of multi-purpose commercial planetary rovers to extend and enhance humanity's presence in the solar system. The Help Desk Technician role is critical to maintaining the technology infrastructure that enables our team to work efficiently and seamlessly. You will be the first line of defense for troubleshooting technical issues, supporting employees with hardware and software problems, and ensuring the smooth functioning of our IT systems. This position is ideal for someone with a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for helping others.
What you'll do:Provide technical support to end users for hardware, software, and network-related issuesRespond to help desk tickets, troubleshoot and resolve IT problems in a timely mannerSet up, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, and other peripherals for new and existing employeesManage user accounts and permissions through Azure Active Directory and other systemsAssist with network troubleshooting, including LAN/WAN connectivity issuesSupport video conferencing setups and remote work solutions (Microsoft Teams)Document and update IT knowledge base with troubleshooting steps and FAQsCollaborate with the IT team to implement software and hardware upgradesEnsure data security by following cybersecurity best practices and proceduresProvide exceptional customer service and communicate technical information clearly to non-technical staffWhat you'll bring:
1+ years of experience in an IT support or help desk roleStrong understanding of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systemsFamiliarity with Active Directory or Azure AD, Office 365, VPN, and remote desktop toolsBasic knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)Experience with troubleshooting hardware (laptops, desktops, printers, etc.)Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitudeAbility to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environmentCertifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or ITIL Foundation are a plusFamiliarity with PowerShell or Batch scriptingFamiliarity with Mobile Device ManagementBenefits and Perks
