Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin’s vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.As an essential member of a dedicated team of diverse engineers, you will lead the design and build of the Lunar Lander Vehicle Test Bed (VTB). The VTB will provide an environment to combine the vehicle avionics and flight software, enabling system development, verification, and validation. The VTB will include software simulations and hardware emulators, as well as software for talking to these simulations and emulators. The test environment will also involve connections to NASA spacecraft emulators, requiring frequent collaboration with NASA and the development of prototypes for inter-element testing.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Because of the need for hands-on work, this position requires on-site work at Kent, WA.Responsibilities:Lead the team in developing the VTB architecture and detailed design, including lab software, equipment, networks, and data acquisition systems.Guide the team through all stages of design, build, integration, certification, troubleshooting, and maintenance.Provide technical leadership for the requirements, architecture, design, software, verification, and certification.Define functional capabilities of the VTB, including software and hardware functions.Provide technical solutions and perform trade studies.Provide work breakdown structures for the development of the VTB.Coordinate with the vehicle subsystem teams to define their test requirements and to integrate their subsystems in the VTB.Develop the VTB integration plans.Support the integration of flight avionics, operator consoles, and test equipment to verify the requirements and performance of the flight software.Lead tiger teams for problem investigation and resolution.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.At least 8 years of experience defining, designing, and building avionics labs, electrical ground support equipment, and/or test assets for hardware in the loop testing.At least 8 years of experience with avionics systems integration and verification.Experience leading a multi-disciplined engineering team.Experience with DO-178 and/or NASA NPR 7150.Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Desired:M.S. degree in Systems, Electrical, or Aerospace engineering.Experience with verification of communication and radio systems in integrated laboratories.Experience with mission operations and ground data systems.Compensation Range for WA applicants is $146,644.50-$205,302.30Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.Inclusivity StatementDon’t meet all desired requirements?
