This position is required for routine registry operations of OLOLRMC. This person is a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) and experienced with cancer registration. This position will independently perform abstracting for all cancer types.Responsibilities

Experience:· 2 years experience in Cancer Registry or related medical clinic.Education:· Associate's degree. Three (3) years cancer registry experience may substitute for Associate's Degree.Training:· Successful completion of the SEER*Educate course is required within the first six months of employment.Licensure:· Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) preferred.Job Standards
Total Weight: 60%Abstracting, Coding, Staging (45%):a. Performs high quality concurrent/retrospective abstraction from the cancer patients medical record to include the required state and national cancer registry data elements.b. Abstracts core information from patient medical records (including demographic characteristics, history of symptoms, diagnostic procedures, laboratory values, complete treatment information and other medical conditions) and enters essential information from the medical record to the OLOLRMC cancer registry database.c. Accurately assigns coding and staging information including diagnoses and procedures using SEER, NAACCR, IDC-10, and ACoS STORE guidelines.Casefinding (5%):a. Thoroughly screens pathology reports from the Case Alert System (CAS) on a daily basis to identify all patients diagnosed and/or treated with a reportable cancer diagnosis.Education / Quality Control (5%):a. Participates in various quality assurance projects as requested by the CoC and LTR.Productivity / Other Duties As Assigned (5%):a. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.Qualifications
CTR (Certified Tumor Registrar) certification required. 3 years experience in tumor registry may substitute for the CTR credential.About Us
