You Will:
Determine if a case qualifies for accessioning into the cancer registry database.Analyze medical records and assign correct codes utilizing the appropriate oncology standards and data collection rules, practices.Enter all information into Metriq software.Work 100% remote from your home office following a structured work schedule.You Have:
ODS (formerly CTR) Credential, Required.Associates Degree in Health-related field, preferredBachelor's Degree, preferred.At least 5 years of abstracting experience as a ODS/CTR (Certified Tumor Registrar) in a COC-accredited hospital applying oncology standards across all primary sites. Experience abstracting in an NCI-designated facility, preferredThorough knowledge of reportable malignant and non-malignant diseases, cancer staging and treatment, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and ICD-O-3 coding.Expertise in applying oncology data collection standards, rules: SEER, AJCC, STORE, STRPractical experience coding using the 2018 oncology standards (at least 3 years)Proficiency using Metriq cancer registry software, preferred.Ability to use an electronic medical record for data abstraction.Proficiency using MS Office software, particularly Outlook, Excel, and WORD.Home work area that is both physically and cyberly secure.Work schedule availability that supports working full days
