BioCT's Director of Communications is an outstanding communicator, collaborator, and community builder. This individual is responsible for developing and executing marketing and communication strategies, managing the organization’s communication channels, messaging and positioning, and the coordination of partnerships and sponsorships. This position reports to the COO and requires a varied skillset that provides an exciting opportunity to grow the reach of the organization and have a positive impact on the life sciences industry.This individual will be comfortable working independently and in group settings, highly attentive to detail and deadlines, and able to manage multiple workstreams.Responsibilities:

Develop and implement an integrated, strategic communications plan to broaden awareness of BioCT and strengthen the organization’s brand identity across key stakeholder audiences to cultivate and maintain meaningful relationships with targeted, external audiences, including the media, public officials, and key influencers.Identify challenges and emerging issues faced by the life sciences industry and the organization. Work to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and solutions and define and execute appropriate strategies for optimization.Exercise judgment to prioritize media opportunities, and prepare talking points, presentations, and other supporting material as needed.Serve as a point person on media interactions that help promote and/or impact the organization and ensure coverage of issues that are of strategic importance to the life sciences sector, as well as BioCT’s programs, special events, public announcements, and other projects.Oversee the continued development and use of the BioCT brand.Create and execute as needed, all copy and messaging to ensure alignment with the organization’s mission and government affairs initiatives.Lead the development and production of electronic communications, including BioCT’s website, weekly electronic newsletter, and other electronic communications. Increase audience engagement on BioCT’s social media channels.Utilize analytics to inform continuous process improvements in communications and marketing initiatives. Track and measure the level of engagement over time.Manage event planning and execution, and the development of marketing programs to attract sponsors, partners, and attendees.Regularly attend industry events and represent the organization professionally. Build rapport with members, sponsors, partners, and prospects.As in all small, entrepreneurial organizations, this individual will undertake ad-hoc assignments/projects from time to time.Job Requirements:

Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration, Journalism, Communications, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of relevant industry experience (life sciences/pharma/healthcare) as well as nonprofit experience.Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communications strategies. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an eye for details.A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently.Relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse to 'manage by influence'.Self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives. Desire to learn new techniques, skills, and technologies.Ability to formulate informed opinions and ideas and take responsibility for their execution.Proficient in Microsoft Suite, WordPress, and Canva or Photoshop/Adobe Suite software.
