Location: University, MS, US, 38677Department: Student Disability Services (10000813)Employee Designation: Regular Full-time (Benefits Eligible)This position plans, coordinates and executes special and recurring projects and programs. The incumbent reports to a Manager-level position or higher.Examples of Work Performed

General Administrative Duties:Answer general information inquiries and consistently communicate with students and faculty regarding testing procedures and policies.Develop, update, and implement testing policies and procedures.Review data and trends to determine testing progression for the future.Prepare data reports and track testing progression throughout the semester and provide this information to administrators of the University.Submit reports to other testing stakeholders on campus.Collaborate with external organizations to determine testing trends.Supervise and train proctors, student workers, and graduate assistants.Cross train staff members from the main office on testing procedures.Collaborate with the Main SDS office to provide information on the facility, faculty, and students.Maintain confidentiality and security of all testing materials.Collaborate with Information Technology Support and the Faculty Technology Development Center to resolve any technical issues that arise during test administration.Develop and maintain professional relationships with instructors and testing stakeholders.Conduct initial interviews of students applying for accommodations.Assist with orientation sessions and speak with students and parents regarding the services offered by SDS.Serve on search committees and conduct interviews for prospective employees.Work with University design to create a better and more accessible testing space.Work with UPD and emergency management services to make our space secure and safe for all students and staff.Report accessibility issues to the building mayor for repair.Maintain inventory and make purchasing recommendations.Clean and disinfect testing areas after student use.Request work orders for general maintenance and direct maintenance crew on maintenance calls.More Examples of Work Performed

Student Support:Oversee all aspects of the Student Disability Services Testing Center.Assist with coordinating the daily operations of the Student Disability Services Testing Center.Ensure students are receiving their approved accommodations in an alternative testing environment.Ensure tests are administered according to the information provided by the course instructor.Schedule and administer paper-based and computer tests to students with accommodations.Review, approve, deny, and reschedule test requests for individualized student testing.Review and prepare test materials, print exam instruction forms, print exams, and prepare packets to be returned to the instructor.Schedule and assign scribes and readers to students requiring specialized accommodations.Train students on navigating their student portal to schedule tests, renew accommodations, and apply for additional accommodations.Check in students, review photo identification, and assign lockers and seats to students.Ensure specialized assistive technology and software are available for exams.Troubleshoot technical issues that arise with the administration of computer-based exams.Proctor students and monitor surveillance cameras during testing.Contact course instructors on behalf of students needing assistance during testing.Facilitate a resolution to potential conflicts or issues that arise during test administration.Keep an accurate log of testing data in the system.Enter case notes in student’s files into accommodations management system.Advocate on behalf of the student for acquiring additional accommodations needed for testing.Serve as a liaison between students and instructors.De-escalate mental health concerns that arise during testing and provide immediate care if needed.Monitor student’s medical devices during testing in the event of a medical emergency.Use professional judgment to determine if the student is able to continue with testing and coordinate the rescheduling of tests if necessary.Encourage students to utilize campus resources for their health and mental wellness.Document and report any act of academic dishonesty to the Assistant Director of the Testing Center.Counsel students with faculty issues and concerns and facilitate a resolution.Faculty Support:Answer information inquiries from faculty and explain testing procedures and policies.Train faculty on navigating the instructor portal.Assist instructors with completing the alternative testing agreement for their courses.Assist instructors with uploading tests for their students.Secure tests that are dropped off by the instructor and make copies of the test, tables, and formula sheets.Return tests to instructors and keep an accurate record of test returns.Resolve complaints from instructors and facilitate a solution.Ensure academic integrity by securing exam materials and building trust with faculty members who utilize the testing center.Essential Functions
