Description

The Department of Imaging Sciences at the University of Rochester (URMC) in Rochester, NY, is seeking

an energetic, inspirational, and accomplished radiologist to lead the Breast Imaging division.

This individual will lead a growing team of outstanding breast radiologists dedicated to the highest

quality outcomes and educational innovation.

The clinical mission of the Division of Breast Imaging is to provide individually tailored comprehensive

care for the early detection and diagnosis of breast diseases. Our Breast Imaging division presently

consists of 7 dedicated faculty members and provides state of the art imaging including novel

ultrasound tomography and breast CT. Structured reporting software and automated breast density

with risk assessment are used across the enterprise. The division is an integral component of the

comprehensive breast program at the Wilmot Cancer Center of the University of Rochester. The

department operates a Mobile Mammography Van that provides access to underserved and

underinsured patients across our region. Recognized as a world leader in radiological imaging,

education, and research, the Department of Imaging Sciences at the University of Rochester has

approximately 105 faculty and is highly innovative with transparent salary and incentive structures,

upper limit of weekend coverage hours, and a residency leadership program. Department leaders meet

regularly and are engaged and empowered in their roles.

There are many opportunities to develop research in collaboration with clinical colleagues as well as

basic science/engineering groups at the university. Multiple academic activity tracks allow promotion

through scholarly education or clinical activity.

Compensation and benefit packages are highly competitive, including tuition benefits. Requirements

include ABR certification or eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology and fellowship training or equivalent

experience in breast imaging and a strong commitment to leadership development. Candidates should

have or be eligible to obtain a New York State Medical License.

Rochester is a mid-sized city with extensive cultural and recreational opportunities. These include the

Memorial Art Gallery, Rochester Museum and Science Center, Strong Museum of Play, the George

Eastman Museum, Seneca Zoo, multiple theaters hosting Broadway plays, and numerous outdoor

summer festivals. Housing is affordable and there are excellent public schools. The Finger Lakes region

of New York is famous for its outdoor sports and is the 3rd largest wine region in the United States.

ABR Certified/Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology

The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
