Parsons is now hiring an Experienced Process Engineering Department Manager (Hybrid/Remote) with a desire to work on large infrastructure projects that change the fabric of our community. Parsons experience in this field, combined with your engineering knowledge and management skills, will propel your career forward with opportunity for advancement with top performance. We need our engineering team to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environments and have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills. In this role, you will perform a variety of process engineering management tasks. Willingness to travel to supplier, client, or construction site locations is expected. Our office locations where you would need to live would be Houston, TX or Bakersfield, CA or Charlotte, NC or Syracuse, NY.
Specific Responsibilities
Reviews and approves discipline staffing budget estimates and staffing assignment schedules on each project. Maintains appropriate staffing level, including temporary personnel, as needed. Reviews and approves staff forecasting reports.
If assigned to a major program, manages all engineering and design efforts for all disciplines required for the program. Coordinates all discipline staffing requirements for the program.
Monitors the quality and progress of the discipline on each project, ensuring that production requirements are satisfied. Works closely with Project Managers to resolve any existing or forecasted problems related to discipline staffing, quality of work, schedule performance, or productivity.
Establishes standards and procedures for the discipline. Recommends improvements to department procedures.
Recruits, interviews, and evaluates prospective employees. Hires, offers personnel development, conducts performance evaluations, counsels employees, takes corrective actions (as required), and approves terminations. Ensures that new employees receive orientation on company policies and procedures.
Supports pre-contract and business development efforts as required, serving as technical consultant.
Ensures performance within overhead budgets authorized for the discipline.
Contributes to the development of innovative engineering principles and ideas.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Skills and Competencies
Proven ability to perform in a supervisory/managerial capacity.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Good client interface skills and confident demonstration of process knowledge to convince and position Parsons well in competitive bids.
Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
Must possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software for use in completing engineering assignments.
Experience in developing process engineering designs including process descriptions, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs.
Experience in developing Feasibility, Conceptual, FEED, FEL, and Detail Design packages for various project types.Process engineering designs include process descriptions, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, input to the controls logic and philosophy, HAZOP studies, developing operating manuals, etc.
Demonstrated experience with delivery of facility design packages for complex multi-discipline, process, architecture & engineering design projects.
Projects will be executed in the Oil & Gas, Chemical Plant, Biomedical, and Pharmaceutical markets.
Education and Typical Experience
4-year Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
15+ years of related work experience, including supervisory/managerial experience.
Professional Engineer registration required.

Salary Range:
$126,600.00 - $227,900.00
