Job Summary:
We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Technologist (MLT/MT) to perform diagnostic testing as per physician orders under the Clinical Director's supervision. This role demands a skill level in line with the individual's education, training, and experience, including maintaining lab equipment, conducting quality assessments, and efficiently managing workloads. The position may involve mentoring lab staff and students upon laboratory director's approval.
Key Responsibilities:Continuously learn and adopt new practices.Perform venipuncture and ensure specimen quality.Conduct accurate testing, troubleshoot issues, and adhere to SOPs.Document critical values and maintain result confidentiality.Participate in competency testing, professional development, and in-service education.Train new employees or students as needed.Utilize computer and LIS systems effectively.Collaborate with patients, visitors, and staff.Support the Medical Center's mission and maintain consistent attendance.Requirements:
Registered MLT/MT with valid credentials (ASCP, NCAMLP, AMT, ASMT, or equivalent) or eligible within six months.Proficient with laboratory instruments and result interpretation.Effective communication with patients and staff.Ability to work with diverse patient populations.Familiarity with lab policies and procedures.Self-motivated and capable of working within guidelines.
