Job Summary:
Join our night shift team in
Northeastern South Carolina
as a Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Technologist (MLT/MT). You'll perform diagnostic tests under the Clinical Director's supervision, manage lab equipment, ensure quality control, and support efficient lab operations. Opportunities to mentor staff and students may be available.
Key Responsibilities:Foster a positive and effective departmental environment.Engage in ongoing learning to integrate new concepts and practices.Perform venipuncture accurately across all patient age groups, ensuring specimen quality.Conduct testing in designated departments, troubleshoot issues, and ensure accurate results.Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for quality control, document corrective actions, and make informed decisions on patient results.Process proficiency samples, document critical values, and maintain confidentiality in result reporting.Participate in competency testing and professional development activities.Maintain certification and actively engage in in-service education and meetings.Train new employees or students as needed.Utilize computer systems and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) effectively.Collaborate positively with a diverse range of patients, visitors, and staff.Support the Medical Center's mission and ensure consistent attendance.Perform additional duties as assigned.Requirements:
Registered MLT/MT with valid credentials (ASCP, NCAMLP, AMT, ASMT, or equivalent) or eligible within six (6) months.Proficient in operating laboratory instruments and interpreting results.Effective communication skills with patients, medical staff, and customers.Ability to address the needs and limitations of patients of all ages.Familiarity with laboratory policies and procedures.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently within established guidelines.
