JOB SUMMARYProvide services to patients/clients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes. Restores function, provide prevention education, promote health, wellness and fitness, alleviate pain and prevent/ minimize disability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSCLINICAL SKILLSDelivers quality carePursues educational opportunitiesShares knowledge with othersUses a wide variety of techniques & technologiesCustomizes treatment & communications to individual patient needs (IE cultural & cognitive)Plans for discharge appropriate to setting & circumstances in a timely manner (IE HEP, equipment, family teaching)Routinely communicates results of treatments and issues with supervising PT/OTFollows care plan as developed and consults supervising therapist regarding changes or deviations prior to adjustment if appropriate.
DOCUMENTATIONUses objective measurements appropriate to substantiate careCompletes documentation on the date of serviceInterventions selected match treatment delivered & meet regulatory standards (IE 3 hr. rule, 8 min. rule)Documentation substantiates charges selectedDocumentation meets clinical policy & procedure guidelines (frequency, timeliness-weekly/monthly notes & discharge instructions)

COMPLIES WITH FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL LEGAL AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTSBy understanding and adhering to current standards of practice for physical therapy, guide for professional conduct including the code of ethics and practice guidelines established by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.By providing appropriate supervision to physical therapy aides and students.

EducationAssociate's Degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program required
Work ExperiencePrevious clinical experience preferred
Licenses / CertificationsPhysical Therapist Assistant license requiredBasic Life Support / CPR, as a healthcare provider, per the American Heart Association required
