The position will be responsible for monitoring drug therapy for behavioral health clients, providing drug information, clinical consultation and various educational programs and in-services for health care providers. In addition, the selected candidate will prepare for and participate in EQRO, DHCS and other audits; perform quality assurance drug use evaluations; write policies and procedures related to medication administration, storage, transportation, and disposal; and other related duties as required.

License Required:

Possession of a current, valid Pharmacist License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:

Education:

Possession of a doctor of pharmacy degree and completion of one of the following (1) one year residency program accredited by the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists; or (2) a post-graduate fellowship program.

Substitution for California License:

A current, valid Pharmacist license issued by a U.S. Pharmacy Board may be substituted for the California License. Candidates qualifying under this substitution pattern must obtain a Pharmacist license issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy prior to employment.

Substitution for Education (Residency/Post-Graduate Fellowship Program):

Possession of a Pharmacotherapy Board Certification from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or American College of Clinical Pharmacists and one (1) year of full time or its equivalent experience as a licensed pharmacist.

Desirable Qualifications:

Knowledge of psychotropics and related monitoringCo-occurring mental health and SUD experience/knowledgeKnowledge of medication-assisted treatment (MAT)Experience in quality implementation and reporting

Selection Process

Candidates who clearly demonstrate that they possess the minimum qualifications will have their training and experience evaluated. The responses to the supplemental questions, at the time of filing, will be evaluated to determine each candidate's relevant education, training, and/or experience as presented on the application and supplemental questionnaire. The Human Resources Department may change the examination steps noted above in accordance with the Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.

CONVICTION HISTORY

DISASTER SERVICE WORKER
