LG Chem is actively searching for an
Equipment Purchasing Manager
(or contractor) for our new plant construction site in Tennessee. The purchasing manager will support as an Individual contributor responsible for planning and implementing the sourcing and purchasing strategies to acquire equipment, equipment services or vendors who supply equipment. This includes creating proposals for bidding and negotiating formal contracts. Qualified candidates must be knowledgeable in all Federal and State rules and regulations in order to adhere with regulatory compliance.
This is a unique role to support our procurement team and will require someone with a project manager start up mindset. You will establish and maintain all new relationships as well as write the project requirements to lead the proposal processes.
Essential Functions
(include but are not limited to):
Source quality Sub-contractors for equipment installation & maintenance work.Planning Procurement Strategies for equipment & construction disciplines for securing Price Competitiveness.Maintain open lines of communication with all of potential sub-contractors.Request for Quotation (RFQ)Support Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE).Create Commercial Bid Evaluation (CBE) with detailed price analysis.Maintain contracts and related files and all business process follow legal requirements are documented in compliance with U.S. federal and state regulations (laws).Bidding or negotiating using the Ariba system.Ensure all contract are based upon and meet AIA standards.Renew the contract if a Change Order occurs.Purchase and control MRO materials, Operation & Maintenance materials and supervisor services.Control and Supervise Bank Guarantees and Payments.Correspond and Resolve Supplier's claims.Communicate with Headquarters in Korea as neededAny other General Management for all procurement process.Key Performance Goals:
Create and maintain site specific Procurement process in the following areas: supplier selection, negotiation, contract management, risk management and ethical and sustainable practices.Capture and analyze all proposals to prepare cost models for each project and prepare written reports for senior leadersPlanning & Managing Logistics & Custom clearance for all equipment & construction contracts.Competencies/Desired Skills:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required. MBA is a plus.CPSM Certificate preferredRequirements:
Flexibility with standard work schedule to ensure open communication with HQ in Korea.10+ years of experience in industrial equipment and installation purchasing. US project/equipment purchasing highly preferred.8+years of experience leveraging strong negotiating and influencing skills with industrial equipment.Experience in EPC, Battery, Battery Materials or Chemical IndustryWorking knowledge and understanding of an ERP system. (SAP experience preferred).Bilingual Korean is a plus.
