QUALIFICATIONSCompletion of a 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List designated by BACB.Passing score on the RBT examination.Current Registered Behavior Technician Certification by the BACBSupervised experienced as set by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.Demonstrates ability to coordinate and collaborate with parents, staff, community, and outside agency personnel.Experience working with children aged 3 and older; experience with children with disabilities, preferred.Demonstrates leadership and management skills in the workplace.Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively orally and in written form.Demonstrates ability to use technology in the workplace.Have knowledge, skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Utilize, with fidelity, the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level.Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position is held in the highest of confidentiality.Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policies; including mandatory reporting procedures.

POSITION SUMMARYThe Registered Behavior Technician will have the opportunity to practice under the close, ongoing supervision of a BCBA. The RBT is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services. The RBT does not design intervention or assessment plans. It is the responsibility of the RBT supervisor to determine which tasks an RBT may perform as a function of his or her training, experience, and competence.

FUNCTIONS

Work directly under the supervision of a BCBA, reporting weekly to the BCBA.Collaborate with principals, teachers, and paraprofessionals to provide research based and effective strategies in the area of applied behavior analysis.Observe student behavior in order to implement appropriate positive behavioral interventions.Collect ABC data in collaboration with other staff to inform a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) (when necessary) and follow up with a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of the Director of Exceptional Student Services and supervised directly by the district Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the Behavior Technician will be part of a district behavior team.Will meet and collaborate with the team on a regular basis to develop action steps to address students' behavioral needs district wide.Under the direction of the BCBA, work with paraprofessionals one-on-one and in small groups to provide training as needed.Assist the BCBA in conducting district in-services, training all relevant staff on the implementation of proactive behavioral strategies.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPSThe RBT reports to the site administrator. The RBT will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.
