Orbital is seeking an Aerial Utility (Transmission & Distribution and Communications) Construction Coordinator to join the Construction Support Services Team based out of our Pittsburgh, PA location. The role will entail supporting various aspects of the execute (construction) phase of make-ready and joint use fiber projects designed by Orbital engineers for clients throughout the northeast region of the United States including, but not limited to, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, and New Jersey.

Regular travel, including overnight stays, will be required Monday through Friday and occasionally on weekends as dictated by projects schedules. Work will take place primarily in the field at construction site locations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:At all times, provide safety oversight in an effort to ensure compliance with all safety procedures at site. Report safety compliance issues and safety incidents to Orbital supervision. Work with crew supervision to stop unsafe construction activities.Prior to construction, participate in construction activity planning, pre-construction drawing reviews, and overall constructability reviews. Inspect construction site and complete pre-construction checklist tasks. Ensure necessary permits (local, state, environmental, etc.) and site/job specific plans (environmental, safety, etc.) are in place, signed, and posted at the job site.Prior to and during construction, assist in the development of switching orders with input from the crews as required by the project scope and oversee crews to ensure switching orders are executed as written.Prior to and during construction, coordinate any and all construction support resources (hydrovac, traffic control, railroad flagging, etc.) necessary to safely and effectively complete project tasks.During construction, inspect work to ensure that all safety and environmental policies are being followed and that the project is being constructed per the applicable specifications, drawings, and permits. Manage communication with construction crew(s), project management personnel, and engineering to resolve all queries (Requests for Information or RFIs) that may inhibit construction progress.During construction, identify field-purchased material needs and communicate those needs to project management personnel in writing. Order materials and rental equipment as necessary and coordinate deliveries. Inventory materials and identify shortages as the project progresses in order to prevent delays in schedule.During construction, be able to report progression of project to outline deficiencies in schedule, track completed construction activities, highlight safety incidents, and monitor compliance of work with specifications/drawings.During construction, perform other miscellaneous duties including maintaining redline construction drawing markups, completing weekly safety audits, communicating scope changes, confirming utility locates, and signing crew timesheets.In general, occasionally climb ladders and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Skills/Experience:Minimum Requirements

HS Diploma or equivalent3-5 Years Relevant Construction / Maintenance ExperienceMust exhibit strong written and verbal communication capabilities.Must be competent in basic computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe).Must be organized, self-motivated, coachable, and detail oriented.Must be able to work well in a group setting and manage simultaneous tasks.Must be willing to travel as needed. Travel and lodging costs are reimbursable.Must possess a valid drivers license and personal vehicle to frequent construction sites.Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Attributes

Bachelors Degree in Construction Management or SimilarExperience in Commercial / Industrial T&D or Experience in Management PreferredMay have a background in structural, mechanical, or electrical (preferred) construction / engineering but must at a minimum be familiar with construction prints/drawings.OSHA 10 hour and MEA specific training is beneficial
