TMCOne along with Arizona Pediatric Surgery & Urology are currently recruiting for an acute care nurse practitioner to provide excellent care to the children of Tucson and Southern Arizona. The ideal candidate will help with rounds within the hospital, discharges and new consults. In addition, the ACNP will receive training in circumcisions to support the existing NP. This role is is a mix of clinic and hospital based practice, however most of the time will be spent in the hospital setting.

Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm, no call, no nights/weekends.A qualified candidate will also perform the following:-function as practitioner, consultant, educator, patient advocate, care coordinator-work together with surgical resident and assist in their adjustment when starting with the practice-perform morning rounds and prepare cases for AM surgery, perform initial in house consults and review with the morning surgeon of the day-perform morning assessment and management of ER, ICU, and post-operative general pediatric surgery patients and prepare home-going needs for patient ready for discharge-assist in OR after proper training-afternoon clinic where NP will obtain patient history, perform physical exam, and determine if surgery is required or refer patient on for correct medical management-afternoon clinic where NP will perform circumcision, abscess treatments, gastrostomy tube care, stoma care and organize post operative treatments of childrenMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

Master’s degree in Nursing or related area, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Acute Care Certification Required!EXPERIENCE :

Two (2) years of related experience, preferably in an acute care setting.LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION :

National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or must be National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner eligible,

must

become credentialed at TMC through the Professional Staffing Office prior to appointment. Must have and maintain a current Arizona state license as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner including prescriptive authority. Must obtain and maintain a current Federal Drug Enforcement Agency License for prescribing controlled substances. Must obtain and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); for Mental Health only Crisis Prevention Instruction (CPI) required.
