Job Description
:
The Quality Manager & Continuous Improvement is responsible for the implementation of the Quality Management System, execution of key elements of Quality operational plans, and developing lean continuous improvement capabilities. By partnering with site leadership, will facilitate full integration of Quality Management System (QMS) into value streams ensuring audit compliance at all times. Will lead a team of Quality Engineering, Compliance and Inspection.
Collaborates internally to ensure quality standards are in effect. Sets tactical and operational plans for the achievement of short to medium-term goals for the development, modification, application, and maintenance of quality evaluation, control systems, and protocols. Provides guidance on the implementation of corrective actions for issues related to internally produced products and processes.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
:Develop and lead implementation of solutions to nonconformities and satisfy quality issues raised by customers for Commercial and Military/Government applications.Analyze customers' product specifications to establish efficient, cost-effective requirements for ease of manufacture and reproducibility. Interact with customers to identify opportunities to improve quality and establish feedback/corrective action with internal team.Review customer purchase orders, contracts and change requests and ensure that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans.Direct Escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and develop recommendations for corrective action for issues related to internally produced products & processes.Lead the development inspection plans, methods, and technologies to assure the reliability and conformance of products and processes.Direct processes to identify and manage risk in product development using PFMEA, etc.Design, implement and document procedures and methodology for process control, improvement adherence and control for all phases of internal production and external supply chain processes.Establish and implement applicable measurements / metrics for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable managers/employees to make sound product quality decisionsLead effort to define and train all employees on tools to perform root-cause analysis and problem solving to identify root cause and effective corrective actions/process improvements.Establish collection and analysis systems of statistical data to predict trends that will affect improvement of product quality.Monitor supplier performance and establish criteria and rating system for critical vendors.Lead and coordinate internal and external quality audits.Maintain and improve product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.Experience & Education
:
BS/BA in Engineering or Business Administration RequiredMS degree in related field preferred5-7 years Aerospace Industry experience in Quality, Operations or Engineering2+ years leading peopleSix Sigma/Lean CertificationsRequires ability to provide technical oversight to quality military and government customer initiatives. Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder or hold other authorizations legal to support military and government customers.Required Skills
:
Broad working knowledge of problem solving tools, theory and principles of statistics and statistical process controlProject Management preferably demonstrating marked improvement in process and systemsExperience in designing and implementing quality systemsDiverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation.Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)Strong computer skills including quality control applications, word processing, spreadsheets and databasesSix Sigma and Lean experienceKnowledge of aerospace forging methodology and practices as well as knowledge and understanding of prime customer systems such as General Electric, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce, Client are highly desiredJob Type: Full-time
Pay: $160,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
