JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Division of Pediatric Surgery in the Department of Surgery at The University of Wisconsin is recruiting an exceptional Pediatric Surgeon, with experience and training in Fetal Surgery strongly preferred. We will also consider exceptional candidates with other clinical or academic interests, such as pediatric colorectal surgery. We are looking for dynamic, innovative individuals with a track record of clinical excellence and academic contributions as demonstrated through training and/or practice experience. The successful applicant will join a division with 6 surgeons in a well-established, exciting team, and must have a strong interest in clinical practice and a demonstrated interest in research, education, and training. The ideal applicant should have a desire to build a robust and academically focused clinical practice while being integrally involved in the education and training of general surgery residents and medical students. Fetal surgeon candidates will support the continued rapid growth of the UW Health Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment Center, offering clinical services at both American Family Children\'s Hospital (AFCH) and Meriter Hospital, in close collaboration with faculty leaders in Maternal Fetal Medicine and Neonatology. The fetal center is a NAFTNet member site and actively participates in numerous multicenter clinical trials in active enrollment. The UW Department of Surgery consists of more than 160 faculty across eleven specialty divisions, performing more than 25,000 operations annually. The Department also trains more than 70 residents and fellows and is consistently ranked amongst the top surgery programs with extramural research funding, currently 7th in the nation according to Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research. The department provides a robust infrastructure of services including academic resources such as The Wisconsin Surgical Outcomes Research Program (WiSOR), which provides support, resources, and a collaborative environment to facilitate surgical health services research at the University of Wisconsin.
