Coordinates administrative activities of a graduate program within a college department or program. Assist Graduate Adviser and Graduate Studies Council. Responsible for ensuring compliance with institutional rules, regulations and procedures. Represents the graduate program to the Office of Graduate Studies.Handles fellowship applications and reports for all EDP student fellowships including preemptive, recruitment, New Texas Scholar Awards, and Harrington first-year scholarships as well as continuing student fellowships, prepare and submit nomination forms to Office of Graduate Studies and the College of Education.Work closely with Fellowship Committee, send out award notifications to fellowship recipients. Process fellowship payments and fellowship-based tuition waivers.Manages departmentalProfessional Development Awardsand endowment awards.Informs faculty regarding graduate student progress.Identify students who need to go through Qualifying Process exams each semester,collecting ratings reports, recording faculty votes and decisions in FMP and notifying students of formal decisions.Send notification letters to students who have been in candidacy for too long and may face seriousconsequences.Handles applications for candidacy and maintains dissertation committee records. Reviews and verifies online programs of work for master's graduates. Maintains electronic records, files, statistics and data bases on graduate students and applicants.Informs prospective graduate students and the public on eligibility for admission and program requirements. Makes appropriate referrals. Provides in-depth information, clarification and interpretation of institutional and graduate program rules and regulations. Serves as primary liaison between the department and prospective graduate students.Interacts frequently with university students, faculty, staff, outside agencies and with the Graduate School, including writing and submitting petitions for exceptions for graduate student policies.Keeps records and actions of Graduate Studies Committee. Edits and updates EDP Graduate Student Handbook.Provides Admissions information and reports to Area Chairs/Program Directors. Organizes New Student Orientation and assists with Campus Visit Day. Sets up programs of work for entering students in EASI.
