Nuclear Medicine Technologist Qualifications and Requirements:Completion of a Nuclear Medicine program with associated certificate or degree.IEMA License in Nuclear Medicine.ARRT(NM) or NMTCB registry requiredBLS certification.One (1) year Nuclear Medicine experience preferred.Nuclear Medicine Technologist Key Responsibilities:
Perform a range of nuclear medicine procedures, including SPECT scans, PET scans, bone scans, cardiac stress tests, and thyroid uptake studies.Safely administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with hospital protocols.Operate advanced imaging equipment, such as gamma cameras and PET/CT scanners, to capture high-quality images.Monitor patients throughout procedures to ensure their comfort and safety.Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to deliver accurate and timely reports on imaging findings.Maintain precise records of patient information, procedure details, and radiopharmaceutical usage.Adhere to all radiation safety guidelines and protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary exposure.Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of imaging equipment, promptly reporting any malfunctions or issues.Educate patients about procedures and address any questions or concerns they may have.Stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine technology and participate in continuing education programs to enhance your skills and knowledge.
