MLR is seeking a skilled and passionate Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a dynamic and growing hospital in Illinois. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform nuclear medicine procedures under the supervision of a radiologist, working independently without constant oversight on technical details. They will adhere to ALARA principles and all regulatory requirements to ensure safe and effective patient care.Nuclear Medicine Technologist Responsibilities:
Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.Operate imaging equipment such as gamma cameras and PET scanners to obtain images.Position patients correctly and ensure patient comfort during procedures.Follow protocols to obtain high-quality images and maintain patient records.Monitor patients during imaging procedures and address any adverse reactions.Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results.Maintain compliance with safety protocols and radiation protection measures.Perform quality control tests on equipment and maintain inventory of radiopharmaceuticals.
