Prevailing Wage
Supervisor
that will lead a team providing prevailing wage support to multiple teams overseeing completion of a construction project. This individual will serve as a key liaison between Finance department and the project team.RESPONSIBILITIESSupervise prevailing wage departmental staff to ensure efficient and effective departmental performance includingSupervise the processes related to prevailing wage reporting and compliance to ensure timely and accurate completion of activities. These include but are not limited to:Management of daily workflow activityEnsure compliance with all reporting and contract requirements as it applies to prevailing wageUtilize performance and operational metrics to manage work and identify areas of improvementEffectively escalate issues with clear understanding and applicable constraints with a proposed resolution path. Interact effectively with senior management with clear and concise communications.
Develop, maintain and educate/train others on departmental procedures & company policyKeep abreast of best practices related to prevailing wage compliance and reporting while maintaining the knowledge necessary to develop department goals, programs, and retain professional competence.Subject Matter Expert on Prevailing Wage.In consultation with legal, payroll and human resource support, oversee the administration and interpretation of prevailing wage requirements.Participate in company projects and company initiatives as requiredResearch, assess and develop recommendations based on best practicesSupport lean innovation
Build effective business relationships within Mortenson to support the needs of the business as it relates to prevailing wage reporting and compliance.Function as the internal consultant on prevailing wage and its impacts to MortensonConduct formal training on all related topics within payroll, the projects or others as needed.
Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levelsLead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performanceAll other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent experience in project accountingProfessional certification highly preferred (CPA, CCIFP, CMA)Minimum seven years of related experienceExperience with Prevailing Wage and LCP Tracker PreferredPositive attitude and professional customer service skillsAbility to understand complex construction business conceptsSuperior organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as an ability to work on multiple projects at a timeStrong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to internal and external customersIntermediate Microsoft Excel skillsActive listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedbackKnowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and Affirmative Action plans and their intended use
